Squirt Minors Game Report

The Connecticut Clippers Squirt Minor team started the 2005/2006 season off with a victory in the home opener against a frustrated New York Apple Core team on Saturday.

The first goal of the season was scored one minute fourteen seconds into the first period by Will Lindlauf (9), unassisted.

The Clippers went up 2-0 in the first period when Taggart Courriveau (24) scored the first of his two goals (the assist going to Evan Sliker). The score at the end of the first period was 2-1.

Evan Sliker (4) had a big second period scoring two goals (the first on an assist from Matt Trevethan (8) and the second unassisted). Taggart Corriveau (24) scored his second of the day, a short handed goal, in the second period (with the assist going to Christian DiDonato (25)). After going down 3-2, the Clippers ended the second period up, 5-3.

Adam Shea (98) scored the final goal with 2:29 left in the game (assisted by Nick Adamsons (99) and Matt Bucher (28)). Al Rogers played a great game making 23 saves.

The final score was 6-3. All the boys played hard, skated well and contributed to this win.
