Bantam Minors Weekend Report

The Connecticut Clippers Bantam Minor team completed the weekend NEEHL Showcase Tournament with a very competitive 1-1-1 record. Saturday's 4:00pm game against the New England Moose ended in a 5-2 loss. Ross Burton and Nick Kruczek scored in a losing cause and Trevor Hirst and Scotty Steele combined to make 34 saves.

Sunday's 10:50am game agaist the North Shore Hurricanes saw the Clippers come away with a 5-4 victory in a spirited affair that saw a combined 56 minutes in penalties and three ejections.

The scoring was led by Jamison Etting who tallied the hat trick, while Sam Nassetta and Kurt Wehr also added goals and Nick Kruczek had two assists. Scotty Steele made 30 saves to keep the Canes at bay.

Sunday afternoon's finale saw Trevor Hirst make an incredible 40 saves to help the Clippers to a 1-1 tie with the New Hampshire Avalanche. Nick Kruczek scored the goal for the Clippers, assisted by Kurt Wehr.
