Squirt Minors Weekend Report

The Clipper Squirt Minors were victorious in their only game this past weekend. On Saturday the team traveled north to Tewksbury, MA to play their first away game on New England Moose ice. Previously the two teams had split 1-0 games.

The defensive battle between these teams continued into their third game. The goal tending by Al Rogers and the Moose goalie was exceptional as both made some great saves and stopped almost all shots. The Moose were the first to score when, five minutes into the second period they beat the Clipper’s defense to a loose puck rebound in front of the crease, just outside the reach of Al Rogers, and put it in the net. The teams continued to play without another goal until four minutes into the third period when Taggart Corriveau ripped one top shelf on the Moose goalie’s stick side and into the net. Evan Sliker got the assist. The tie was broken when Corriveau scored his second of the game, with just over a minute left, off a pass from defenseman Matt Trevethen. It was a hard played game between two equally matched NEEHL teams.
