Christmas Giving

This year, as in the past, the Clipper Hockey Teams each adopted a family for Christmas. The generous outpouring of clothing, toys and pantry staples were delivered to families who would not have had the means to celebrate the holiday. Words could never express the gratitude of these families as the gifts were delivered. For many, the once bare cabinets are now stocked to the brim with soups, cereal, juice, vegetables … The turkeys donated by Champions fill an otherwise empty refrigerator, The children now have warm clothes to wear and toys to play with, books to read, blankets on their beds.

Several Squirt Major skaters joined in the gift distribution this year, which was a remarkable experience for them. Watching these young boys struggle to carry huge bags of groceries and toys up two flights of stairs, their eyes wide with wonder and pride, would bring a tear to anyone's eye.

This generosity is but a small example of the spirit of the Clippers' families and the Champions Skating Center. Encouraged by the efforts of Bob Crawford and Jean Bridge, Rink Manager, Champions' skaters are encouraged to share their blessings and give back to their community throughout the year. Once again, Clippers and Champions teaming up scored a huge assist!
