Squirt A Weekend Recap
After a tough loss on Saturday facing a very synergistic Western (Danbury) 96' Squirt A team, the Clippers traveled to Brewster, NY to face the Brewster Bulldogs Squirt team. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period. Minutes later Manner (2) did it again unassisted to put the Clippers into the lead in the second period. The Bulldogs managed to sneak a goal in the third to tie the game. Then, Juliano (1) assisted by Manner, gave the Clippers the game winning goal late in the third period. Up one goal with 1:01 left on the clock, Brewster pulled the goalie and went on a 6-4 man advantage to try to tie it up. The outstanding defensive efforts by Andrew Wilson, Peyton Lawler, Garrett O'Brien, Joe Vilano, and Cameron Howe-Bernadel would not allow the Bulldogs their game tying goal. The result was a 3-2 win for the Clippers, their first of the year. Kyle “Pac-Man” Thibodeaux was outstanding in the pipes facing 25 shots and stopping 23.
