Squirt Minor Weekend Report
This past weekend the Clippers' Squirt Minor team played two games, coming up with their first weekend sweep! On Saturday the Squirt Minors hosted the East Haven Squirts. The Clippers charged out right away in the first period to score three goals. Goals were scored by: Alex Manner (1) assisted by Andrew Watson (1), Colin Nodden (1) assisted by Zach Jolles (1) and Garrett O'Brien (1) and Andrew Watson (1) assisted by Alex Manner (1). It was Watson's first goal and assist of the year in only his second game played!!! The second period produced two more goals scored by Manner (2) assisted by defenseman Chris Adamsons (1) and Zach Jolles (1) assisted by O'Brien (2) and Nodden (1). At the end of the second period the score was 5-0 Clippers! The third period was started with and unassisted goal by Jolles (2) to put the Clippers up 6-0. East Haven woke up and chipped one over the head of the Clipper's extremely tall goalie Kyle Thibodeaux to break up the shut out. They added one more late in the period to make the final score 6-2. Clippers' defense held East Haven to only 16 shots on net.
On Sunday, the Squirts traveled to South Winsor to play CHC opponent South Windsor Squirts. South Windsor took a 1-0 lead in the first period until the Clippers' Tyler Juliano (1, 2) put in two unassisted goals in the second period to wrap up the game for the Clippers. The defensive efforts by the Clippers only allowed the South Windsor team 11 shots on net, 10 stopped by goalie Kyle Thibodeaux.
