USA Hockey Affiliate New England District Joins the Massachusetts Tier I Select League
Revere Ma. -- What a great thing for hockey! With the addition of the New
England District into the Select League by a unanimous vote, the benefits
that come along with this merger can be so fruitful. Better Development,
competition and the focus of getting the best players under one umbrella.
This year 4 Programs from Connecticut will join us, (Greenwich Blues,
Connecticut Clippers, Connecticut Wolves and the Mid-Fairfield Blues). We
feel these teams will be followed by the other New England Affiliates,
New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont next season. Rhode Island has been in the
League for several years. All the programs will be Mini National Training
Camps once they reach the Pee Wee Minor Player Development stage of
League. This is great for our League and great for hockey. I would like
to personally welcome the New England District Connecticut teams to the
League.Dan Maniff

Comments from Bob Crawford:
"This is a great thing for the Tier 1 teams in the Connecticut Hockey Conference. This league will become part of a Tier 1 USA Hockey structure that eventually will encompass the whole east coast under the USA Hockey Banner. This league along with our Atlantic League competition is the best of the best schedule anywhere."
"Finally Tier 1 will have the localized competitive competition it needs within the USA Hockey Development Model. Kudos to CHC President Jim Lanza, Our New England District leaders and the 12 team Mass Tier 1 Select people who all have worked hard to make this a reality" said Bob Crawford a USA Hockey Director and BOD member from the New England District who was given the task to help develop with Mass Tier 1 the local Tier 1 League in New England. Along with the league schedule, 3 Major Showcases are planned to further enhance the league membership.
"We are fielding calls from all over New England from kids and coaches all wanting more information on how to get information on try outs for the teams in the league in their area. This will be another example of CHC and USA Hockey's goal and effort to provide the best competitive product to meet its members needs within the USA Hockey family."
