Former Clipper Neil Poulsen signs with Charlotte Checkers of ECHL
General manager and head coach of the Charlotte Checkers, Derek Wilkinson, announced today that forward, Neil Poulsen, has agreed to terms with the club. Poulsen, born in Brockville, Ontario, will be entering his first season in professional hockey after playing four seasons at Queen’s University in Canada. The rugged 6-foot-3, 235-pound forward played 54 collegiate games and garnered three goals, four assists and 54 penalty minutes.
“I am really looking forward to contributing,” said an excited Poulsen, “This is a great opportunity and I am excited to find out what it’s like to be a pro. I want to win games, get better and move up.”
Wilkinson says Poulsen will join the American Hockey League’s Hartford Wolf Pack for training camp before joining the Checkers.
