Squirt Majors 10/13 Recap
The Squirt Majors started another successful weekend by hosting the New England Moose on Saturday. The Clippers started out the game with an early short handed goal by Chase Harwell given assistance from Taggart Corriveau and Noah Sanders. The Clippers continued with solid defense and excellent puck control to see three more goals in the 1st period by Chris Adamsons assisted by Jarod Florian, Corriveau assisted by David Piekut and Harwell, and Evan Sliker assisted by Corriveau. The 2nd period found the Clippers earning six more goals by: Tyler Augustinsen assisted by Sliker, Corriveau assisted by Harwell and Sliker, Tyler Juliano assisted by Philip Motter and Chris Lyman, Piekut assisted by Corriveau and Harwell, two more by Juliano to earn him a hat trick, the first assisted by Sliker and Motter, and Motter coming in with a second assist for Juliano’s third goal of the game. The end of the period found Brendan Pelletier saving a two on zero shot on goal keeping his game to zero goals going into the third period. The third period found the Clippers another four goals by Harwell assisted by Piekut and Corriveau, Sliker assisted by J.R. Stiles and Piekut, Corriveau found his third goal for a hat trick with assistance from Harwell, and Lyman found his first goal of the game and the season. The Clippers ended the game with a 14-0 win, giving Pelletier his third shut out of the season.Sunday proved to be more challenging for the Squirt Majors as they hosted Team Comcast, but they held strong and came together as a team. The first period the Clippers spent a lot of time fighting back on defense and Team Comcast was able to score two goals before the Clippers came back with one of their own unassisted by Chase Harwell. Team Comcast found two more goals by the end of the first period finding the Clippers down by three. J.R. Stiles came in with a hard shot off of the face off from Taggart Corriveau, and the Clippers ended the 1st period down by 2. The 2nd period found both teams fighting hard to make goals and hold off goals. The Clippers scored only one goal in the second by Corriveau, assisted by Tyler Augustinsen and Evan Sliker, while they were able to hold off Team Comcast with Brendan Pelletier stopping all eleven shots on goal. The 3rd period found one out of 6 shots making it into the Clippers net, while the Clippers fought back hard to find three more goals by Corriveau, assisted by David Piekut, Jarod Florian assisted by Augustinsen and Sliker, and a hat trick going to Corriveau assisted by Harwell and Stiles. The Clippers team playing and hard work won them a much earned game at 6-5.
