Squirt Majors 10/27 Recap

The Squirt Majors participated in the Midfairfield Jamboree this weekend, starting the weekend off with a tough game against the host team. As one Midfairfield parent was heard commenting, “It was a real nail biter - too close for comfort!”

The Clippers were able to hold the MF Blues off until the 2nd period where the score board ended with a 2-2 tie with Chase Harwell and Taggart Corriveau assisted by David Piekut scoring the two Clippers' goals of the period, both from nicely followed up play which led to rebound goals. The third period found MF scoring two quick goals bringing the score to 2-4. Corriveau's second goal of the game brought the Clippers to a one goal difference. MF was able to score one more goal ending the game at a 3-5 loss for the Clippers.

Sunday found the Clippers facing the Greenwich Blues, another tough Connecticut team. The first period saw Taggart Corriveau coming on strong with help from Chase Harwell. Two goals were scored by Corriveau in the first, one a sweet top shelf shot, and the period ended with the Clippers up by one. The second period only saw one more goal go to each team, Corriveau coming up with a hat trick in the middle of the period. The third period gave Corriveau one more to add to his stat sheet while David Piekut chimed in with the fifth goal of the game assisted by Corriveau. The game ended with a 5-2 win.

Regardless of win or loss, the Clippers had a strong defensive, goal tending and team-play weekend.
